  • NEW FASLANE nuclear exercise called "short sermon" was conducted in Scotland in 1997
    The largest ever nuclear accident exercise took place at Faslane submarine base from 17th to 19th November 1997. Exercise Short Sermon simulated a limited release of radioactive material into the atmosphere from the reactor of a nuclear submarine. The results indicated that there was not enough Potassium Iodate Tablets (PITs) for the population IN THE EVENT OF A NUCLEAR DISASTER.
